Okay here it comes. Another Matrix comparison to the primaries. I should have thought of this earlier, but I can only hope that some of you read this before you go vote in the Super Tuesday Feb. 5th elections.
When Barack Obama took Iowa, no one expected that win. Then when Hillary Clinton just barely beat Barack in Nevada and New Hampshire, though he took the delegates, they still said he wouldn’t finish strong. His come back and closing of the gap on Hillary in the polls one week before Super Tuesday reminds me of the Matrix in so many ways.
I wrote a piece about Barack Obama comparing him to Neo from the Matrix. His big finish in Iowa was like the scene in the first movie. When Neo decides not to run away from Smith but instead fight. And Trinity asks Morpheus “What is he doing?” Morpheus answers “He is beginning to believe!” Best line ever.
So why does Barack Obama’s massive surge one week before Super Tuesday remind me of the Matrix? First of all he was trailing Hillary in some of these places by upwards of 20 points. And in one week, his surge and his power has managed to galvanize this country. He is now in a dead even heat with her. He may not win today, the primaries may not be decided today. It may need to go in to a few more states before we see a clear winner. Hillary could still be that winner. But I urge anyone who hasn’t made up their minds to push and swing it to Obama.
In the Matrix Reloaded we learn the true purpose of “The One” when Neo meets the Architect. He tells Neo that he is a remainder from a system of equations. Neo is an Anomaly. And that there have been 5 “Ones” before him. And based on choice Neo has 2 paths to choose from. He is to go in to one door choose 27 people from Zion and rebuild it again. Or he chooses the other path and saves Trinity who entered the Matrix to help him get to the Architect and she is stuck fighting an Agent. To save her means Zion will surely be destroyed.
What made Neo different was again a system of choices. But the “Ones” before him never had love. Neo and Trinity. Barack has Michelle. A solid and loving partnership. Not a political partnership and phony marriage like the Clinton’s. The “Ones” before Neo made the choice to take a handful of people and start over again. But since Neo didn’t do that, Zion faced destruction. Now we have to consider Smith. Smith became a threat to the entire Matrix and was destroying it. Due to the connection Neo and Smith have shared through out the whole trilogy. It happened when Neo destroyed Smith in the movie. So Smith is out of control and now Smith becomes the bargaining chip for Neo to save Zion.
With Barack Obama he IS Neo. In Iowa he fought Clinton (Smith) and destoryed her. Only an unexpected bond or connection made her strong again. Barack (Neo) was still beating her in a way, by taking the delegates. She wasn’t winning on Barack in huge ways. It would be like Smith and Neo fighting and then Neo taking off before the fight was over. So technically you could say Smith won the fight. But Neo still wins because it takes several Smith’s to fight him. Think of the scene in small park where Neo fights like 50 Smith’s. The Burly Brawl. Neo takes off because it gets too much. But he is still stronger than Smith over all. Barack is stronger because he takes the delegates. He took them is Nevada and he definitely took them in South Carolina.
Barack Obama’s momentum this whole week before Super Tuesday, is like Neo flying around the Matrix and setting all the people free. He is strong and the things he does and says to people of this great nation, start to make people believe in him as “The One.”
Now it’s Super Tuesday. This is like the end of the Matrix. Where Neo has to finish Smith to save Zion. Barack has to finish Clinton to save America. Some say that Barack and Hillary are the same. But they are really like Neo and Smith. One is the light, and one is the dark.
Bush is the Machine world. He only wants war and oppression. So Obama has to make a deal to end this war. He has to fight Clinton in the toughest battle of his life.
The republican war machines want Clinton to win. She is a part of the system. She has a history and the they think they can beat her because they know her so well and all the things she has lied about or screwed up. She has lies, deceit, and approvals for war on her record. And her so called 35 years of experience is really a bunch of fluff, corporate bullshit. Her political game with her husband Bill who would be another agent of the system makes them powerful. But Hillary like Smith has cut loose from the normal programing and has become rogue in her quest. The lying, injecting race via Bill, the shoddy records, the war vote, the so called 35 years of experience that she spent working for corporate, and her do or die (do or have your pay checks garnished) health care plan, and the initially wanting to vote for illegal aliens to have drivers licenses, only to change her mind when the door was all but slammed in her face. Now she tries to be the champion against it. They nearly divided the party. And they, Bill Clinton and her, continue to be polarizing and divisive.
All of the things she represents makes her a part of the system. A system of control. A system that has to end. A system of old houses and families that leave us like zombies in our pods. Leave us helpless while we are forced to live out our lives like nothing is really happening. In the Matrix. We have too many bills, children, and worries to stand up fight. And most of don’t even know we are living like zombies. Like batteries that power the system.
Barack Obama is Neo and he stands up to fight for us, for Zion. He has taken this primary on like Neo returning to the Source. Dangerous and unknown territory. And Clinton’s dirty politics of inserting race was like Bane(Smith) blinding Neo. But Neo could still see Bane(Smith) and he stood up up to Bane and killed him. Killed Smiths connection to the real world. Like Clinton’s slap in the face when her dirty politics back fired on her in South Carolina.
We don’t have to wait for the next one to come along and let the system take us down again and over and over and over. Let him fight for us, and let him change the same old order of Washington. Let him wake us up our of our pods and join the real land of the living. Make peace with the machines and help bring back balance to the nation. No more black skies.
Let Barack fight for us. YES WE CAN!!!! You can make a difference. Nosce te ipsum. It means “Know thyself.” You know what’s right. Like Barack says “You can be ready on day one, but I would rather be RIGHT on day one.”
The Path of the One Ends here tonight. One way or Another.
